Sun Dec 25, 2011 2:26 PM EST
health, metoprolol

If you have ever read the leaflets that come with prescription medications (lots of people don't) then you will probably be shocked. The leaflet outlines the potential side effects of this medication. This is also true for cholesterol medicine side effects.

The potential unwanted effects for any medication can be quite extreme and reading through their email list can be very frightening - especially if you are about to begin taking that one medication! Of course, many people will take most prescription drugs and not are afflicted by the negative effects - or at least no of the more serious effects.

Metoprolol

However, the potential risks are there, and you need to be aware of them. Cholesterol medicine has negative effects as with every other medication. These can change from the subtle - such as a lack of appetite, nausea and muscle pain through to respiratory issues, facial swelling, kidney problems, liver damage and heart failure. The potential risks come because the prescription medication is a complex cocktail of drugs and chemicals combined inside a lab. The balancing act of the chemist would be to have the advantages of the drug outweigh along side it effects experienced.

Cholesterol medicine negative effects have proved fatal in some cases, resulting in certain medications being removed from industry. Probably the most annoying cholesterol medicine negative effects is nausea. Nausea can really modify the quality of your life, stopping you moving forward from taking part in many of the stuff that you may otherwise wish to. Nausea can strip you of your confidence, as you do not want to venture to far out in public for fear of vomiting in public places.

Metoprolol

In addition to this, the upset feeling inside your stomach can limit your enjoyment of anything. There is often nothing worse compared to felling that you may be sick at any moment. Cholesterol medicine side effects can have a far-reaching effect on your life, but nobody would ever reason that they would outweigh the benefits of taking cholesterol medicine. Coping with high cholesterol is too great a risk for your health. This trade-off between ill-health and cholesterol does not need to be the case, however.

There are options to over the counter chemical medication. You will find natural remedies for high cholesterol, that do not carry all of the potential negative effects. If you are one of the numerous who are negatively affected by cholesterol medicine side effects, or would certainly prefer to not high risk them, then natural alternatives are well worth a glance.

The main thing is always to find a natural alternative to the chemical cocktail the doctor or chemist would advise. There actually is no need to suffer with cholesterol medicine side effects if you find a natural alternative.
